Project Overview
The RapidRide I Line Bus Rapid Transit Improvements project is a major transit corridor enhancement led by King County Metro to improve RapidRide service along Route 160 through the cities of Renton, Kent, and Auburn. The project includes construction of new RapidRide stations, roadway modifications, utility improvements, traffic signal upgrades, and channelization improvements designed to support efficient and reliable bus operations throughout the corridor. Additional scope includes roadway paving, drainage improvements, retaining walls, pedestrian accessibility upgrades, and multimodal infrastructure improvements intended to improve transit access, traffic flow, and public safety across south King County.
Transcon-specific scope of work
Transcon coordinated with the prime contractor and project stakeholders to support the installation of electrical and dry utility infrastructure associated with the RapidRide corridor improvements. Scope of work included installation of roadway signal systems, conduit infrastructure, street lighting systems, and communications pathways supporting transit operations, traffic management, and pedestrian safety improvements throughout the corridor. Additional work included coordination of underground utility systems, traffic control integration, and electrical infrastructure serving RapidRide station facilities and adjacent roadway improvements. Through coordination with multiple agencies and project partners, Transcon contributed to the successful delivery of critical transportation and electrical infrastructure supporting enhanced transit mobility and corridor safety.
