Project Overview
The Lynnwood Link Extension (L200) project expanded the Link Light Rail by constructing approximately five miles of new light rail infrastructure along the Interstate 5 corridor, extending service from Northgate Station to Lynnwood City Center Station. Delivered by Sound Transit, the project includes new stations and multimodal access improvements designed to support growing commuter demand in communities north of Seattle. Key station locations along the corridor include Shoreline South/148th Station and Shoreline North/185th Station, both of which feature structured parking garages and park-and-ride facilities to improve transit accessibility. The extension provides a high-capacity transit option for residents in the north King and south Snohomish County areas, reducing reliance on highway travel and improving regional mobility along the I-5 corridor.
Transcon-specific scope of work
Transcon coordinated with the prime contractor and project subcontractors to deliver signalization and dry utility infrastructure supporting the corridor and station facilities. Transcon’s scope included installation of signal and communications utilities serving the 185th Street station parking garage, as well as roadway electrical infrastructure associated with nearby intersections and pedestrian access routes. Additional work included installation of traffic signal conduit systems, vehicle detection loops for traffic signal operations, street lighting infrastructure, and pedestrian crossing safety signage and electrical systems. Through coordination with multiple stakeholders and integration with the broader project schedule, Transcon delivered critical electrical and signal infrastructure supporting safe vehicular and pedestrian circulation in the areas surrounding the new light rail stations.
